About Grafikus
am pretty sure you do not wanna hear about how i grew up in a Design Rich Moorish World that inspires your thoughts, words, actions, and everything that comes out of you. I remember in primary school, the kids used to draw cartoons like the Ninja Turtles while i was always tracing architectural shapes, whether it was a building, a plane, or a car. But i have to admit that sometimes used to draw GOKU, i was obsessed with the Dragon Ball cartoon (Hell! who wasn't?). I never mentioned that i wanted to be a policeman when i grew up or a fireman, because it never fascinated me, i always knew that i wanted to be a Designer of some sort and an Architect in particular(which i am not now).
you also do not want me to tell you that while growing up, things changed a bit, in a good way. That inspiration i felt since i was little kept on getting stronger and more intense. That's when i started to understand the relation between my feelings and my designs. See, there is a Euphoric state that i get into when i travel to certain places, surf some very special waves, listen to certain musical beats (right now am listening to BBC Radio1, it's a Must in my life), when i think of certain people, or simply when am alone. i do not know how to explain it, but those things trigger a creative side of me that nothing else will. So understanding that fact made me appreciate those things even more and so i became very protective of them. So please, do not mess with my loved places, loved music, and loved ones, because without them i am Nothing, my work depends on their existence.
Now that we know that you did not wanna know all that, i just want you to know that i hope that you enjoy my site and that it would inspire you in the same good way others inspire me.
Work
my Eyes were opened to graphic design when i got a design bible from France when i was about 15 from Dr. Perrier, a very good friend of my father. So when i started college (computer science) Amine Shintok approached me within the first couple of weeks to design a logo for his Ravers Club, and the rest was history. started designing posters, flyers, and logos for every event or whatever i could get. Then i decided that Design it is! so i joined the iMedio team at SAU Tech while i was getting my degree, it was there when i met Greg Skaggs, Jeremy Able and Bryan Alexis, the people who equipped me with a lot of the skills i know today.
in Summer 2000 i worked for AUKETT+iio, a multinational industrial architecture company as a CAD drafter. After that, i interned for UBI-Soft where i played a tiny role in designing the track for the game Monaco GP 2001. from there on, i just kept trying to land as many opportunities as i could, from working for nineteen76 production in Los Angeles, to being a Marketing Manager Beef and Biscuits in Arkansas. now, i work as a design associate for a marketing agency while holding several freelance contracts.
if you'd like me for hire, please take a look at my Curriculum Vitae(CV) for all the details, skills and all the good stuff.
